防老劑

橡膠及其制品在長期貯存和使用過程中，由于受到熱、氧、臭氧、變價金屬離子、機械應力、光、高能射線的作用，以及其它化學物質和霉菌等的侵蝕，會逐漸發粘、變硬發脆或龜裂。這種物理機械性能隨時間而下降、彈性降低的現象叫做老化。隨著老化過程的進行和發展，橡膠及其制品性能會逐漸降低以致完全喪失使用價值。為此，需在橡膠及其制品中加入某些化學物質來提高它對上述各種破壞作用的抵抗能力，延緩或抑制老化過程，從而延長橡膠及其制品的貯存期和使用壽命，這類物質叫做防老劑
